Anyone Know what kind of switch this machine has that can help?
Not knowing the machine and just guessing I would say replace the switch. Most equipment switches are conman and NAPA or any good parts store should carry them. Remove the switch take a picture of the wiring on the back so you can have something to go by when wiring the new one in.

I have removed the switch! - It has 5 terminals marked L1G, -M, ST,+M, B and a white painted number 704 on it. It is 1 1/2" across on the terminal end and 3/4" on the bit that key inserts into. Any ideas where I can get a replacement - im in the UK.

Any good auto or marine parts store.
