2009 Elgin Pelican NP

Post by Lurch » Thu May 17, 2018 7:06 am

I've been fighting with our sweeper for a few weeks now with it not picking up the debris. The side broom pulls from the gutter well, but the main broom seems like it doesn't have any down pressure, and leaves a path the width of the main broom between the dirt shoes. Even adjusting to the heavy setting will not change and the dealer has looked at it a number of times with no results. It all started after main broom replacement and splicing the conveyor belt. I know the belt it facing the way and the broom is on correctly, it's just like no down pressure on the main broom. Any advice is appreciated.

Is there any dirt getting into the hopper?
When I had mine and it did like you reported it was the conveyer not lifting the dirt. the broom worked but to much dirt piled up in front of it sliding under the main broom. Lift the hopper and run the broom to see if the conveyer is running. Very little down pleasure is needed for the main broom to work.

let us know if this helps.
