Pelican Broom Speed

Postby Mann » Wed May 27, 2009 12:38 am

Can anyone tell me what the main broom speed (rpm) should be on a '97 Pelican P with engine at 1800 rpm? Main broom has slowed down and wondering if hydraulic motor is worn. About 2300 sweeping hours on machine.
Thanks, Brock :?:

Okay, I can answer my own question: On a Pelican P with engine at 1800 RPM here are the numbers:
Main Broom: Free Wheeling No Load 85 RPM
With load for a 4 inch pattern 83 RPM
Side Broom: No Load 100 RPM
Down with load 100 RPM.
These tests done with brand new, new style main motor and new Tandem Gear Pump.

Main Broom free wheeling speed of 100 RPM with engine at 2250 RPM.
