Use of GPS/GIS Technology To Manage Street Sweeping

Post by zzbakell » Sun Feb 15, 2009 3:19 pm

We (Gold Coast City Council, Queensland Australia) are keen to discuss the benefits with other local government organisations that have been using GIS/GPS technology for a while to manage their street sweeping operations.

Of particular interest is what information they are able to get form the sensing devices on board the sweepers, and if they are using ESRI or MapInfo GIS mapping systems.

I know there are companies doing this now, I've been looking for a turn key, integrated solution not some thing that would involve manually converting gps data to gis files. Is any one aware of a supplier that could deliver this.
