Top load vs front load sweepers

You won't find much info on this subject.
The front load sweepers tend to do a better job on sand and dust but can often have difficulties on litter.
The top load sweepers imbed the litter into the brush and carry it over the top into a hopper. They work better on litter than they do on sand and dust. The challenge is getting the litter to the brush. A front movable flap is often used, but it relies on the operator to detect the need to lift the flap and allow litter to enter the brush chamber.
Historically, the front throw sweepers have been the most popular.
