Emerald Expositions to Hold NPE West in October 2018

Emerald Expositions, which owns and operates National Pavement Expo, has decided to augment that 33-year-old event with a new event aimed at the West Coast market. Called National Pavement Expo West, the new event will be "co-dated" with another Emerald Expos show, the International Fastener Expo.

The relatively new owner of the National Pavement Exposition, Emerald Expositions, is the largest operator of business-to-business trade shows in the United States. The organization currently operates more than 50 trade shows, including 31 of the top 250 trade shows in the country as ranked by Trade Show News Network, as well as numerous other events. Its events connect over 500,000 global attendees and exhibitors and occupy more than 6.9 million NSF of exhibition space. The organization has been recognized with many awards and accolades that reflect its industry leadership as well as the importance of its shows to the exhibitors and attendees it serves.

According to an interview conducted with NPE's current show manager, Russ Turner, by PAVEMENT Maintenance and Reconstruction Magazine, NPE's previous owner, the NPE West show will be held Wednesday, October 31 through Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV.

Turner says that the reason for starting an NPE West is a matter of market demand fueled by requests of the NPE community. "Currently," said Turner, "there is no show that completely services professionals in the pavement maintenance and reconstruction industry located on the West Coast. This geotargeted event will allow western regional contractors ease of access to suppliers.

When asked about the response received from the announcement of NPE West, which took place at the National Pavement Expo in Cleveland in mid-February, Turner said "Exhibitors and attendees alike are excited and have expressed great interest in hearing more about NPE West. We have received numerous inquiries over the last year from contractors specifically asking if we would ever come to Vegas. It is clear that there is a need to help service groups on the West Coast.

"NPE West will co-date with the International Fastener Expo, which is also produced by Emerald Expositions. That event brings together manufacturers and distributors of fasteners, precision formed parts, and machinery and tooling. Though these two events will run independently of one other, attendees from each will be granted access to both exhibit halls. Where synergies exist, it could present interesting opportunities for some of the participants."

Turner also made it plain that NPE West will complement NPE, not replace it. NPE is scheduled for February 27th to March 2nd, 2019 in Nashville, TN. Based on response to date, Turner said his organization expects NPE West to begin with a successful event launch that generates a lot of momentum. The fundamental purpose of the regional expansion, Turner said "is to increase connections between contractors and manufacturers. Bottom line, it is our business to help customers grow their business."
