2014 NPE Sweeper Demonstrations

For the first time in a decade, the National Pavement Expo offered machine demonstrations for exhibitor equipment. Two sweeper manufacturers, Elgin and Schwarze Industries, took advantage of the opportunity.

For those who didn't attend NPE 2014, held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, from January 8-11, we offer videos of the demonstrations by Elgin and Schwarze. Both featured a mechanical broom model: Elgin chose to demonstrate its Broom Badger sweeper, while Schwarze Industries went with its M6 Avalanche model.

Unfortunately, the weather in Ft. Lauderdale did not cooperate with the demonstration schedule, and for two days the intermittent rain showers created delays and re-scheduling issues for a variety of equipment set to demo. Although this was all capably handled by Cygnus' Allen Heydorn, it was difficult to know exactly when different types of equipment would end up with a 'rain break' that allowed demonstration.

Following are photos and a video of each of the sweeping companies demonstrations. Also included is contact information for each sweeper in the event, including links to the web page of each of the respective products, in case you would like more information.
